laser welding is a laser beam fusion material with extremely high energy density. It has the advantages of fast welding speed, high strength, narrow welding seam, small heat affected area, small workpiece deformation, less subsequent processing workload and high flexibility. Laser welding can be used not only for common carbon steel and stainless steel, but also for materials that are difficult to be welded by traditional welding, such as structural steel, aluminum, copper and other metals.

Modern sheet metal manufacturing has increasingly higher requirements on welding strength, appearance and other quality, especially for high value-added parts with high welding quality requirements, which can be completed without follow-up processing or with very little follow-up processing. But the traditional welding method, because of the huge heat input, will inevitably bring the workpiece distortion and other problems. In order to make up for the problem of workpiece deformation, a lot of follow-up processing means are needed, thus increasing the cost.

Laser welding has the minimum heat input and the minimum heat affected zone, which can significantly improve the quality of welding products and reduce the time of follow-up work. In addition, due to the fast welding speed and large welding depth to width ratio, can greatly improve the welding efficiency and stability. Therefore, laser welding is becoming more and more popular in sheet metal fabrication.

In sheet metal fabrication, different products have different requirements for welding strength, appearance and other qualities. For example, the appearance of elevators, kitchenware, food equipment, the need for a very beautiful, smooth, no deformation of the welding effect. And some of the internal structure or the subsequent need to spray parts, welding strength and welding speed have higher requirements. This can precisely reflect the advantages of laser welding, because laser welding can not only achieve beautiful weld heat conduction welding, but also achieve high welding strength, high welding speed of deep fusion welding.
